Graveside services will be at 1:30 p.m. today at Simmerwell [Simerwell]Cemetery east of Auburn for Mildred M. Baxter, 87, Route 1, Wakarusa, who died Sunday, December 21, 1997, at a Topeka nursing home.
She was born March 18 , 1910, near Delia, the daughter of Issiac [Isaac] and Clair Henry. She was the foster daughter of Walter and Elsie Crouse.
She was a former member of the Baptist Church of Auburn.
She was married to William A. Baxter Feb. 18, 1930, in Topeka. They lived southeast of Auburn many years. He died Sept. 14, 1979.
Survivors include a son, Walter L. Baxter, Wakarusa; a daughter Mary A. Davis, Tecumseh; a sister Dolly Curwick, Caldwell, Idaho; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
The casket will remain closed. Carey Funeral Home in Burlingame is in charge of arrangements.
