Wild.

Hermann married Rachel Saunders on Sept. 28, 1940. They celebrated their
69th wedding anniversary in September. They had three children, Pamela Henry
Sanders (Don), Diane Henry Ratliff (Rich) and David Henry (Harriet); five
grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Frances (Shutters) Shank.

Mr. Henry graduated from Clark High School in 1935. He attended Franklin
College, joining Kappa Delta Rho, before transferring to Purdue University and
majoring in agricultural economics and farm management.

He returned to Clark Township and took over the family farm, called
Wildwood Farms, producing award-winning grain and raising champion spotted
Poland China hogs, which won many awards in Indiana and surrounding states. He
owned the county John Deere dealership from 1950 to 1972.

Devoted to his community, Mr. Henry was involved in church, political and
civic activities. He was a member of Community Congregational Church, where he
held many positions through the years. In 1946, he helped organize the Franklin
Jaycees. He also served as president and chairman of the state Jaycee
Agricultural Committee.

In 1948, he was named the "Outstanding Young Man of the Year" by the
Franklin Jaycees and received the U.S. Junior Chamber of Commerce Distinguished
Service Award, of which only two had been given. He received the Red Cross Award
of Merit, the Kiwanis Rural Life Award, the Henderson Drug Co. Agriculture
Achievement trophy and Johnson County Boy Scout Achievement Award and was named
a Sagamore of the Wabash.

Mr. Henry was a member of the Elks, Ceretians Farmers Club, Masons and
Indianapolis Scottish Rite and a trustee of Hurricane Foundation. He had served
on the mental health board, was past president of the Johnson County 4-H fair
board, past president of the Johnson County Farm Bureau, director of the state
association of spotted Poland China breeders and past board member of Rushville
Federal Credit Association, USO Board and State Implement Dealers Association.
He also helped organize the Johnson County Community Chest.

In 1954, Mr. Henry served on the Johnson County Council, and in 1958 he
was elected to the Indiana House of Representatives. He was Johnson County
Democratic chairman from 1964 to 1970 and Johnson County clerk from 1965 to
1968. He was appointed deputy commissioner of the Indiana Motor Carrier Transit
Authority in 1969.

Mr. Henry was elected to the Johnson County REMC board and served on the
Indiana statewide REMC board. He was state president from 1977 through 1979,
then was appointed REMC's representative to the Indiana General Assembly and
received his professional board certification from the National REMC
Association.

Of all Mr. Henry's accomplishments, he enjoyed being with his family the
most and living his life according to his faith as a Christian.
