HENRY, James - James Henry was born near Montgomery, Ala. Sept. 23rd, 1822. Removed to Mississippi when a young lad and came to Arkansas in 1844. He was married to Mary Jane Beal October 11, 1849. To them were born nine children, three of whom survive. John Levi living in Western Texas, Caldona Everheart living in Grayson County, Tex. and Arizona Cardwell living at Springdale. He was married to Eliza Ruth Beal in 1877 and to this union was born one child, Edward Lee, living at Prairie Grove. Married to Alphurnia Peerson December 1894 who survives him. Uncle Jim, as he was familiarly called, had been very feeble and almost helpless for the last few years. The end came peacefully Sunday, June 5 about 12:30 o'clock a.m. Funeral services were conducted by E.F. Rice Sunday at 3:30 at Friendship which were attended by a large crowd of sorrowing friends, after which interment was made in the cemetery there. Uncle Jim professed religion in early life and was for many years a Deacon in Friendship Church but some few years ago joined the First Baptist church of Springdale, of which he was a member at death.
