Alice Faye Dudley Hennen, 68
CUMBERLAND - Alice Faye Dudley Hennen, 68, of Cumberland, passed away April 4, 2008, after a courageous 18-year battle with breast cancer. She went to be with her beloved Lord in heaven while surrounded by family and friends.
She was born Nov. 3, 1939, in Claysville, the daughter of the late Eugene E. and Margaret Faye Reeves Dudley. After graduating from Cumberland High School in 1957, Alice was a bookkeeper for Branthoover and Johnson in Cambridge until her marriage in 1961. As a stay-at-home mother, she enjoyed her lawn and garden and was proud to be known as a good farmhand. Her final months were made more enjoyable since she could finally be called Grandma. Alice was an active member of the Cumberland United Methodist Church and its women's society.
She is survived by her husband, Robert Edward Hennen, whom she married Oct. 6, 1961; children, Scott Douglas (Sheryl) Hennen of Columbus and Kathleen Margaret (Jason) Jefferis of Cambridge; granddaughter, Lily Faye Jefferis of Cambridge; three brothers, Gene (Gail) Dudley of Claysville, Robert (Kay) Dudley of Derwent and James (Linda) Dudley of Chandlersville; three sisters, Bonnie Henderson of Cumberland, Betty (Don) Miller of Zanesville and Janice (Jerry) Moore of Chandlersville; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Mark Edward Hennen; granddaughter, Avery Hennen Sikora; mother-in-law, Gertrude Blanche White Hennen; father-in-law, Robert Maple Hennen; and brothers-in-law, Gerald (Sherry) Lee Hennen and Ken (Bonnie) Henderson.
Alice's wishes to be cremated will be honored and a memorial service under the direction of Pastor Keith Taylor will be held at a later date at the Cumberland United Methodist Church.
As an expression of love, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.
The Tom & Farus Funeral Home of Cumberland is assisting the Hennen family.
