At the age of 81, Ruth M. Baker died, after a long illness, on March 7, 2011 while a resident at Heath Village in Washington Township, N.J.
Ruth was born in Newark, N.J., but had her early years in Irvington, N.J. She lived in Succasunna, N.J., for 45 years before moving to Heath Village eight years ago.
Ruth was employed by Bell Laboratories in Whippany, N.J. and Chester, N.J. for 30 years and was a founding member of St. Therese R.C. Church in Succasunna. She was also a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America and of the Women's International Bowling Congress.
Ruth was predeceased by her husband, William Sr., in 1991; sister, Eileen H. Madrazo, in 1976, and brother, John M. Henkel, in 2008.
She is survived by her two sons, three daughters, 14 grandchildren; two sisters, and one brother.
The Funeral Liturgy was held on at St. Therese R.C. Church in Succasunna, N.J., with the interment to follow at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Pleasant Hill Road in Chester, N.J.
