Lucille M. Hehs

Lucille M. Hehs of McQueeny passed away at Resolute Health Hospital in New Braunfels on Wednesday, February 25th, 2015 at the age of 77. She was born in the Zorn Community, Guadalupe County, to parents Adolph and Elnora (Meister) Henk on September 12, 1937. On October 20th, 1956 Lucille married her husband Merwin at Friedens Church in Geronimo, Texas.
Lucille is survived by her husband Merwin O. Hehs, son Richard and wife Jana and granddaughter McKenzie Hehs.
Other survivors include brothers Edward Henk and wife Dorrene, Leo Henk and wife Annie, and sister Betty Jandt and husband Albert. Also sister-in-laws Adeline Henk, Laverne Henk, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her daughter Nancy, and brothers Allan, John, Roger, and Jimmy. Also by sister-in-laws Ora Lee “Biddy” Henk and Yvonne Henk.
Lucille was a member of Cibolo Sons of Herman Lodge #147. She was also involved with the VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post 7110 New Braunfels.
She enjoyed spending time at the family lake house which eventually became her permanent residence. At the lake house she enjoyed fishing, gardening, cooking, and spending time with family and friends. One of the most precious moments in Lucille’s life was when her only granddaughter McKenzie was born.
Lucille was a loving and caring, wife, mother, mother-in-law, and “Oma” and we will miss her dearly.
Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 1st at Zoeller Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, March 2nd also at Zoeller Funeral Home with graveside service and interment at Guadalupe Valley Memorial Park Cemetery to follow. Pallbearers are nephews David Henk, Leon Henk, Michael Henk, Carlton Henk, Rusty Henk, and Darryl Jandt.
Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Jude’s Ranch for Children, 1400 Ridge Creek Lane, Bulverde, Texas 78163-4354 or the Parkinson’s disease Foundation 1359 Broadway, Suite 1509 New York, NY 10018.
