Joyce Henington Alldredge
Joyce Henington Alldredge died Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2009, in Abilene. She was 76.
Joyce was born in Sweetwater, Texas to Lawrence and Velma Henington. She graduated from Sweetwater High School in 1950, when she was 16 years old.
She married Jimmie Lee Alldredge in 1954. The couple had two children, Jimmie and Jeanette.
Joyce went back to college and obtained a degree when she was 40. She managed the Hastings Book Store in Snyder at one time and also had managed the Longhorn Cafe in Sweetwater.
After retiring, Joyce and her husband Jim worked for the Army Corps of Engineers as gate attendants. They worked at several campgrounds across the state. When Jim died in January, she moved to Roby to be close to family.
She is survived by her son and his wife, Jimmie and Cindie Alldredge of Roby; and her daughter and son-in-law, Jeanie and Drew Borries of Salinas, Calif. She leaves 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 31, 2009, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, at the corner of 10th and Elm Streets.

Plot: No mention is made of burial information, so this memorial is placed at Sweetwater Cemetery where her husband and parents are buried. Per the Sweetwater Cemetery Sexton: "I cant find her on the books and I looked on her parents lot (block L, lot 1) in case she was cremated and there are no listings either."
