Former Tuolumne County resident Mona Jean (Henington) Blacksher died Feb. 8 at a hospital in Fayetteville, Ark. She was 73.
She was born in Sonora and was the daughter of Grady and Harriet (Kellogg) Henington. She attended local schools and graduated from Sonora High School in 1950.
She retired after a career in insurance and enjoyed gardening, fishing, painting and books. She volunteered at the Fayetteville Library and recorded books for the blind.
She is survived by her husband, James Blacksher, of Fayetteville; sons, Rodney Blacksher, of Fayetteville, and James D. Blacksher, of Aztec, N.M.; a daughter, Holly Daniels, of Durango, Colo.; two grandchildren; her brother, David "Bucky" Henington, of Sonora; and stepmother, Maxine Henington, of Sonora.
Moore's Chapel in Fayetteville is handling arrangements.
