Nevelle L. Hendry, 81 died Saturday, Jan. 11, 1997, at Freeman Neosho Hospital after a short illness. Mr. Hendry was born Dec. 11, 1915 in McDonald County. He was a life-time Goodman area resident. He was a member of Lone Star Church of Christ, east of Neosho. He had owned and operated a grocery store for several years in the Sweetwater community, east of Neosho. He married Frances Whitaker on Dec. 15, 1940. She survives. Also surviving are a son, Jerry Hendry, Neosho; a brother, Jack Hendry, Burkburnett, Texas; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Graveside services were Jan. 14 at Howard Cemetery, Goodman. Pallbearers were Vernon Shellengerger, Ed Eton, Robert Morris and Jeff Tomasetti. Arrangements were under the direction of Clark Funeral Home at Neosho.
