Margaret McDonald was a victim of the Halifax Explosion. She perished along with her two very young children. Her husband survived.
Margaret was the daughter of David Hendry and Margaret Jane McCaskie. She married John McDonald on 10 December 1914, Halifax, Nova Scotia.
The family had two children:
John Kennedy McDonald (1915-1917)
Margaret Hendry McDonald (1917-1917)
At the time of the explosion the Margaret and her children lived at 43 Duffus Street, Halifax.
Her husband John was serving with the 25th BN CEF in France at the time.
The remains of the Margaret and her two children were never found. It is believed they were burnt to ash in their home. No trace of them was ever found.
