Grace Hendrix Broadaway, 87, of Floyd Road in Austell, formerly of Virginia Avenue in Cedartown, passed away Thursday, Sept. 14, 2006 following an extended illness. She was born on Jan. 24, 1919 in Polk County and was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Cedartown. Mrs. Broadaway was an avid golfer and had taught a seniors exercise class at the church for years. She is preceded in death by her parents, five siblings and her husband, David F. Broadaway. Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, Ray and Paula Broadway; daughter and son-in-law Gail and Edward Packer and a number of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral service were held Saturday, Sept. 16 at 11 a.m. from the chapel of the Lester C. Litesey Funeral Home with Dr. David Taylor officiating. Interment followed in Polk Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the First United Methodist Church of Cedartown. Pallbearers were Ed Graves, Floyd Murphy, Kermit Perry, Dan Nixon, John Thomas and Jimmy Russell. The Lester C. Litesey Funeral Home had charge of the arrangements.
