DOWNEY — Doris Hendricks, 74, died in a Caldwell hospital Tuesday morning following an illness, it was learned by his sister Mr. Vern (Nora) Kay of Downey.
Mr. Hendricks was born at Calonia Diaz, Old Mexica, on May 6, 1893, a son of Alfred D. and Annie Jorgenson Hendricks. The family moved to Richmond, Utah, where Mr. Hendricks grew up and attended schools.
He married Vera Sperry of Clifton on Sept. 9, 1914, in the Logan LDS Temple. They made their home at Richmond and moved to Letha, Idaho, 20 years ago, where they had since resided. He was well known in the Marsh Valley area.
He had been a carpenter and farmer by trade and also worked for the Union Pacific Railroad for many years. He was retired. He was an active member of the LDS Church and served for many years as a stake clerk. He was a high priest.
Funeral services are being planned at the Letha Ward LDS church. Burial will be at Emmett, Caldwell Funeral Home will announce time of services.
He is survived by his widow; a daughter, Janna Hendricks; brothers, Rayman A., San Diego, Calif; Gerald, Blackfoot; Asa, Cambridge, Idaho; sisters, Mrs. Vern Kay, Downey; Mrs. Edna Pollard, Encinitas, Calif.
