Funeral Services for Mrs. Pearlie Jean Baker, 68, of Dublin, will be held on Monday, January 19, 2015, at 2 PM at the Second Baptist Church, 800 North Decatur Street, Dublin. Reverend Korie Baker will officiate. Burial will follow in the Dudley Memorial Cemetery.
Mrs. Baker was born on December 16, 1946, to the late Rosa Lee and the late Robert Lee Henderson. On Wednesday, January 14, 2015, God spoke to Mrs. Baker and said, “It’s time to take your rest. You’ve fought a good long and hard fight. Now there is no more pain or restless days or nights.”
Mrs. Baker was educated at the B.D. Perry School. She was a faithful employee of Bassett Furniture in Dublin for 32 years. She was also a faithful member of the Second Baptist Church of Dublin.
Mrs. Baker was preceded in death by her husband, Harrell Baker, by one sister, and by four brothers.
Mrs. Baker leaves to cherish her memories her children, Willie (Diane) Spikes of Tallahassee, Florida, and Michelle (Jerome) Coney of Dublin; two sisters, Mattie Henderson and Barbara Ann Knight both of Dublin; one uncle, Fred Wiggins of Youngstown, Ohio; a devoted friend, Mae Lattimore of Soperton; very-much-like-a-mother, Ethel Spikes; fourteen grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
