Barbara Jean (Ballou) Henderson (1935-2012)


Barbara Jean Ballou Henderson, 76, of Sherman succumbed to a long illness on the afternoon of August 17, 2012. She was born October 26, 1935 in Denison. She was the daughter of Earl and Eugenia Ballou who preceded her in death.

She graduated from Sherman High School, class of 1954 and attended the University of Colorado in Colorado Springs. Barbara retired from Current, Inc. in Colorado Springs in 1990 where she was the manager for new products. Barbara and Jack moved back to Sherman in 1992. Barbara's hobbies included cooking, sewing, gardening, and travel. Barbara was a kind sweet person and will be missed by all.

Barbara was married on September 1, 1960 to her Sherman High School classmate Jack P. Henderson. Survivors include her husband Jack, daughter Jenna Bruns and son-in-law Scott Bruns from Round Rock, Texas; son Jeff Henderson of Deltona, Florida; son Jason Henderson of Hurst, Texas and daughter-in-law Cheryl Henderson; sister Gay Doyle and brother-in-law Chris Doyle of Waxahachie, Texas; and sister Sherry Ziegner and brother-in-law Robert Ziegner of Sugarland, Texas; brother and sister-in-law Joe and Annie Henderson of Lake Texoma, and five grandchildren.

Visitation for friends and relatives will be Monday evening, August 20, 2012 from 6 until 8 p.m. at Dannel Funeral Home located at 302 S. Walnut, Sherman, Texas. Church services will be Tuesday, August 21, 2012 at 10 a.m. at West Sherman Baptist Church, 1830 W. Washington, Sherman, TX 75092. Rev. Danny Woods will officiate.

Entombment will follow at Chapel on the Hill at Cedarlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Home Hospice of Grayson County, 505 W. Center St., Sherman, TX 75092 and/or West Sherman Baptist Church.
