Ruth Elizabeth Blair, 91, of Spencer, passed away on Tuesday, March 10, 2015 at McCormick’s Creek Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center. She was born June 19, 1923 in Spencer to Guy and Olive (Gibson) Hendershot. She was a 1941 graduate of Spencer High School. She worked as the head cashier for Standard Grocery Stores in Indianapolis for 31 years and was a member of the Spencer Church of Christ.
Ruth is survived by her children, Gary Blair (Cindy) and Joyce Huxford of Mishawaka; and three grandchildren, Jonathan, Douglas, and Jason Blair.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Russell Blair; three brothers, Carl, Claude, and Gene Hendershot; and a son-in-law, Don Huxford.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m., Friday, March 13, 2015 at West & Parrish & Pedigo Funeral Home. Brother Gary Fiscus will officiate. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery. Friends may call from 1 p.m. until the time of the service.
