DEATH CLAIMS IDA B. DUNKEL
Mrs. G. K. Dunkel, a resident of Fairfield in 1906, passed away at 1:30 a.m. this morning at her home, 204 N. Third street. She had been in ill health for the past year.
The body was taken to the Hoskins funeral home where last rites are pending word from relatives.
Ida B. Dunkel was born March 24, 1883, near Iowa City, Iowa, the daughter of the late Frederick and Elizabeth Akers Hempstead (sic).
She was united in marriage on January 16, 1906, to G. K. Dunkel who survives. The wedding took place near Iowa City, and soon after the couple moved to Fairfield where they have made their home since.
Mrs. Dunkel, 66, was affiliated with the Christian church, a member of the O.E.S., the White Shrine and Hawkeye Rebekah Lodge No. 286 (sic. 386 ??). She was also a member of the PAst Matron's club, O.E.S., Past Worthy Matron's club, O.E.S., Past Worthy High Priestess club, Past Noble Grand club of the Rebekah lodge, and a member of the Woman's club.
She is survived by her husband, one daughter, Mrs. Harold Davidson, Milwaukee; one sister, Mrs. Charles Wilson, Forest Hill, Louisiana; and a brother, Andrew Hempstead (sic), Iowa City.
