OBIT: BOGATA NEWS, Friday 16 Apr 1954, from microfilm in the Clarksville Library: Death of Snell B. Hemingway of Clarksville, 59 year-old veteran of World War I, Thursday was ascribed to a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Justice of the Peace Reed returned this verdict after an inquest, a .38-calibre pistol being the weapon used. Hemingway, who had returned from a veterans hospital about a week ago, had seem depressed. He was unmarried, and lived in an apartment in the Wrenn House, where he was found shot, death being apparently instantaneous. He was born in Clarksville, Dec. 12, 1895, son of the late George and Sarah 'Lyle' Hemingway. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans and of the Masonic Lodge. Survivors include five nieces and four nephews, among them, Mrs. H. Sheppard, Mrs. J. E. Green and Mrs. Dorcas Emory of Clarksville and Mrs. J. C. Coggins, DeKalb. The funeral was held Saturday by Rev. Glendel Jones, and burial was made in the family cemetery.,
