Ella Mae Beam, formerly of Bendersville, died September 23, 2010, in Gettysburg.

Born Sunday, October 13, 1918, in Menallen Township, Adams County, she was the daughter of the late Paul C. and Martha J. (Starner) Heller.

Ella was employed by C.H. Musselman Company in Biglerville as a seasonal employee for 27 years before retiring in 1981.

She was a member of Bendersville United Methodist Church and AARP. Ella was a former member of Centenary United Methodist Church in Biglerville, where she was active on various committees.

Her husband of 60 years, Russell E. Beam, died in 1995, and she is survived by three children: two daughters, Judie A. and husband Sherl Shaffer, Ada M. and husband Bud Kennedy; a son, Wayne C. and wife Joan Beam, all of Bendersville; three grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; 10 step-great-grandchildren and two step-great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her son, Paul R. Beam; step-mother, Carrie E. (Black) Raffensperger Heller; half-brother, S. Byron MacBeth; half-sister, Jennie Shepherd; and two step-brothers, E. Richard Raffensperger and Bruce Raffensperger.

Interment was in Bendersville Cemetery.
