Rites Thursday at Charles City for C. A. Heitz
Charles City - Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the St. Charles Methodist Church for Charles A. Heitz, 69, Ulster Township farmer, who died Monday afternoon at the Cedar Valley Hospital where he had been a patient for the past 19 days.
The Rev. William Lane will officiate and burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.
Mr. Heitz was born Oct. 30, 1884, in Ulster Township, son of George F. and Mary Haas Heitz. He was married to Martha L. Huxsol, Feb. 14, 1913, at the A. D. Huxsol home in Ulster Township. He has been a resident of Ulster all his life and was active in Farm Bureau work and civic activities of his community. He was a member of the St. Charles Methodist Church.
Survivors are his wife, and two children, Benton J., living at home, and Mrs. Marvin Hirsch, Rockford; two grandchildren, three sisters: Mrs. Charles Hirsch, Mrs. E. A. Koehler, Mrs. Fred Stoeber, and two brothers: William and George, all of Charles City or vicinity.
