He was born April 3, 1953, in Adrian, the son of George Stanley and Margaret (Zick) Heimerdinger. On December 21, 1998, he married Martha Ann Ellison and she survives.
Barry retired from Ford Motor Company in 2002 after many years as a line repairman. He was a member of the Clinton United Church of Christ, a volunteer for the Clinton Fire Department for 10 years, part of the Manchester Men's Club and Barry's Coffee Club. He loved bowling, softball, hunting, fishing and watching Clinton High School Football. Barry helped deliver Pioneer Seed and he helped on the dairy farm with his uncle and father. He treasured spending summers at his home at Heimie's Hideaway but what gave him the greatest pleasure was spending time with family and friends.
Barry is survived by his wife, Martha; mother-in-law, Monetta Ellison of Waynesboro, Tenn., his children, Heather Heimerdinger, Heidi Heimerdinger, Brian Heimerdinger, and Holly Heimerdinger, all of Clinton; Melinda (Randle Dugger) Coker of Waynesboro, Tenn., and Elizabeth (Jeremy) Sullivan of Clinton; grandchildren, Kelsey, Tenerra, Carol Ann, Alissa, Ben, Tyler, Patrick, Ragan and Braden; great-grandchildren, Kylie and Lincoln; his brother, Walter (Paula) Heimerdinger of Valrico, Florida; aunts and uncles; Jim (Evelyn) Heimerdinger of Clinton, Lois Richardson of Onsted, Evelyn (Harold) Gregg of Adrian, and David (Mary) Heimerdinger of Clinton. Several nieces, nephews and numerous cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, his Aunt, Ruth Eleanor (Heimerdinger) Auten Ebach and his uncles, Clarence Junior Heimerdinger, and William Dean Heimerdinger.
Visitation for Barry will be from 4 to 8 pm Wednesday, April 20th, 2016, and Thursday, April 21st from 2-4 and 6 to 8 pm at the Clinton Chapel of Handler Funeral Homes. Funeral services will begin at 11 am Friday, April 22, 2016 at the Clinton United Church of Christ, 300 Tecumseh Road, Clinton, with Pastor Diane White officiating, preceded by visitation from 10 am until the time of service. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Clinton.
