Myrtle attended local schools and graduated from Sheboygan Central High School in 1946. On October 22, 1949, she was united in marriage to Clemens Acker at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church in Sheboygan.
She was an office manager at Metropolitan Life Insurance Company for eighteen years. Myrtle was a current member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, served on many church committees, Apostlette of Suffering and a Den Mother. She enjoyed cooking, baking, playing cards, traveling, sewing and golfing. Myrtle was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Survivors include her husband, Clemens, of Sheboygan; three sons, Larry (Lynn) Acker, of Poplar Grove, IL, Tom (Sarah) Acker, of Glendale, James (Debbie) Acker, of Cecil; grandchildren, Laura (Bruce) Paluch, Luke (Carissa) Acker, Emily Acker, Alexander Acker, Benjamin Acker, Zachary Acker, Austin Acker; great-grandchildren, Emma and Kira Paluch, and Alivia and Addison Acker. She was further survived by other relatives and friends. Myrtle was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and sisters-in-law, John and Adele Heim, Ray and Virginia Heim, and a sister and brother-in-law, Josephine and Joseph Broeckert.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, July 27, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic, 1305 Humboldt Ave., Sheboygan with Rev. Paul Fliss officiating. Family and friends may gather at the church on Thursday morning from 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass at 11:00 a.m. Entombment will take place at Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established in Myrtle's name.
