BENJ. HEILMAN COMMITS SUICIDE BY JUMPING INTO A CISTERN
Benjamin Heilman, a farmer living near Millersburg, this county, committed suicide by tying a rock to his neck and then jumping into a cistern last Tuesday morning, while his wife and children were eating breakfast. It is thought that the unfortunate fellow was laboring under temporary insanity. Heilman leaves a family in moderate circumstances, and his children are all nearly grown. He attempted o take his life about a year ago by trying to drown himself in about two feet of water in Pigeon creek, near Millersburg, but was rescued in time to save his life.
