|Birth: ||Oct. 9, 1842|
|Death: ||Dec. 14, 1921|
Katherenah Hornberger was his first wife: married abt 1871 in Chase County, Kansas. They are together in the 1880 census; Henry is a widower in the 1885 state census.
Henry married second wife, Flora Wallace, in September 1885.
There may have been a third wife for a brief time in 1913-1914.
Henry was clearly a unique character. He served for the Union in the Civil War. He was a buffalo hunter, plainsman, farmer, cattle broker, gun shot victim, boiler inspector, politician, prospector, and veterans' advocate. He started and owned a salt business and a home construction business. Law suits and complaints abound. Henry also appears in an FBI database in a letter alleging him to be a "slick and dangerous man."
