Francis Julius Hegwer (SIG) passed away January 7, 2005 in his home in Duncanville.
Survived by his wife of 48 years, Corine, his daughter, Julie Gary of Midlothian, his son, Paul and daughter in-law Vicki of Mansfield, his son Karl and his daughter in-law Erin of Grand Prairie, and his daughter Jennifer of Duncanville. He had three grandchildren very precious to him, Clare and Kate Hegwer and Megan Gary.
Sig, the nickname that stuck with him since high school, was born on a farm outside Sarcoxie, Missouri on July 24th 1931.
He graduated from Sarcoxie High School in 1949.
He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War.
Sig began his career as a hardware salesman for Belknap Hardware of Louisville, Kentucky in 1955 where he met his wife, Corine.
They were married on February 2nd 1957 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
They moved to Mexico, Missouri in 1957 where all four of their children were born.
The family moved to Longview, Texas in 1969.
In 1973 Sig became the owner and operator of the House of Parts on Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. in Dallas and the family moved to Duncanville the following year.
He loved the store and enjoyed the people he served.
Sig was an avid golfer and had many very special friends to share that passion with.
He was a member of the Sleepy Hollow Country Club in Dallas for 28 years before it closed last year.
He also enjoyed spending Summers in Ruidoso, New Mexico where the weather was just right for more golf.
He will be missed by family and friends.
Services are 3pm, Tues., Jan. 11, 2005 at Jaynes Memorial Chapel in Duncanville.
The family will receive friends from 6-8pm Mon. at the funeral home.
