Lillian Teresa Heft was born on January 8, 1903 to her loving parents, Henry John and Martha Ann Schonschack Heft. She was an only child. She lived with her parents in the house that they built at 62 Forest Street in Wyandotte, Michigan until she married at 21.
After completing her education, Lillian worked at Wyandotte Chemical in the capacity of Secretary to the Auditor. She was also a Pianest in the Wyandotte Concert Orchestra.
Later, she was a life member of the Order of the Eastern Star and served as it's Worthy Matron in Plymouth, Michigan in 1942 and 1943. She was also Grand Organist for the O.E.S. and was a member of the Woman's Club and Woman's National Farm & Garden Association.
Following husband, William, Jr's career, the Hartmanns' moved 13 times before they settled at 383 Blunk in Plymouth, Michigan in 1938. They were both members of the Presbyterian Church on Church street in Plymouth, Michigan.
Lillian spent the last 8 years of her life in Abington Manor in Westland, Michigan. She died of Acute Renal Failure at the age of 94 in St. Mary's Angela Hospice in Livonia, Michigan, on July 6, 1997. She was buried on Wednesday, July 9, 1997 next to her husband in Riverside Cemetery in Plymouth, Michigan.
