Linda Kay (Heesch) Crayne, 48, passed away on Monday, July 6th, 2009 after a courageous fight against cancer.

Linda was born on September 25, 1960 to Robert and Marilyn (Hegdahl) Heesch in Sioux Falls, SD. She was baptized on May 18, 1975 at Hope Lutheran Church in Sioux Falls, SD. She married William D. Crayne on October 26th, 1979 and lived on a farm in Garretson, SD. She was a foster parent and a CNA at Palisade Manor nursing home in Garretson, SD. for several years. After moving to Jerico Springs, Mo. in 1993, she worked as a CNA at several local nursing homes, was the treasurer and tax collector for Jerico Springs for eight years, became a Cedar County first responder and weather watcher, and was currently employed as a dispatcher for Cedar County Sheriff's Department in Stockton, Mo. for five years, a job she loved.

She is survived by her husband, William Crayne of Jerico Springs, Mo.; five children, Robert Crayne of Springfield, Mo., Cheryl McElroy and husband Brent of Lockwood, Mo., Danielle Crayne of Lockwood, Mo., Aaron Crayne and Ethan Crayne of Jerico Springs, Mo.; her grandchildren, Brittany, Haley,and Macy McElroy; her parents Robert and Marily Heesch of Sioux Falls, SD.; her brothers Brian Heesch and wife Cathy of Sioux Falls, SD., Loren Heesch and wife Val of Lennox, SD., and David Heesch of Sioux Falls, SD.; her sisters, Tammy Johnson and husband Mike of Garretson, SD., and Stacy Olson of Sioux Falls, SD; her nieces, nephew, and many relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by a brother and her grandparents.

Linda was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend who enjoyed living each day to the fullest and will always be loved and greatly missed by everyone who knew her.

Visitation will be Friday, July 10, 2009 from 6 to 8 p.m. and services will be held on Saturday, July 11, 2009 at 2 p.m. at the Brumback Funeral Home in Stockton, Mo. with Ronnie Backs with the St. Andrew Lutheran Church officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Stockton Cemetery.
