Mrs. Joe (Marjorie E.) Gordon, 68, Chelan, died Saturday evening in a Chelan hospital following an extended illness.
She was born on April 1, 1905, at Brief, where her parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Hedding, had homesteaded in that valley. She attended school at Entiat and was married to Joe Gordon on May 22, 1923, at Entiat. Following their marriage they made their home in Navarre Coulee, near Chelan, where they owned and operated a hay and stock ranch until 1950. In 1950 they moved to Chelan where they owned and operated the Traveler's Motel until their retirement in 1970.
Surviving are her husband; two sons, Rex and Dale, both of San Diego, Calif.; three daughters, Muriel Houghton, Manson, Bucille Daugherty, Nordland, Wash., and Shirley Morrison, Seattle; a brother, Charles E. Hedding, Entiat; three sisters, Esther Hedding, Brief, Charlotte Woods, Entiat, and Carol Cox, Leavenworth; 14 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister.
