LILLIE BREDEMEIER

Lillie Christine Louise Bredemeier, daughter of William and Mary (Most) Hecht, was born on Dec. 7, 1883 at the farm home north of Seneca and passed away at the Pawnee Manor on May 30, 1973.

She was baptized at the St. Johanas Church and confirmed at Frieden's Evangelical Church of Bern, now known as Frieden's United Church of Christ, by Rev. Schulz. She was a member of this church and the Women's Guild.

She attended Union School and on Nov. 4, 1908 was united in marriage to Ferdinand Bredemeier at Frieden's Church by Rev. Emil Vogt.

This union was blessed with two children: Alice, Mrs. Marius Christensen of Belen, N.M., and Bernice of Seneca, Kan. the Bredemeiers lived on the farm for 30 years, then moved to DuBois and lived there until June, 1969 when both Lillie and her husband became residents of Pawnee Manor after celebrating 60 years of married life.

Lillie or grandma as she was affectionately known, taught Sunday School for 15 years as a young woman.

Surviving are her daughter and son, four grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, a son in law and daughter in law and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ferdinand, a daughter in law, Stella, her parents and two brothers, Emil and Edwin.

She loved her family and friends, was a devoted wife and mother and loved flowers and gardening, in addition to helping wherever and whenever needed.

Funeral services were held June 3, 1973, at Frieden's United church of Christ at Bern, Ks., with the Rev. Charles Aeschliman officiating. Mrs. Richard Droge and Mrs. Lyle Hess sang "Just As We Are", "Abide With Me" and "How Great Thou Art" accompanied by Mrs. Rex Griffith at the organ.

Pallbearers were Leslie Droge, Walter Hecht, Melvin Bredemeier, Gayle Hecht, Carl Boehmer,Jr., and Leon Korber. Interment was in the Frieden's U.C.C. Cemetery.
