Barbara A. (Heater) Hyatt, 76, of Connellsville, passed away Sunday, April 5, 2015, at home surrounded by her loving family, following a lengthy battle with cancer. She was born July 30, 1938, in Connellsville, a daughter of the late Sylvester and Catherine Dix Heater. Barb enjoyed spending time with her family, and she loved to decorate for the holidays. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Sturgis Hyatt; five brothers, Bud, Harry, Robert, David and Jimmy; and four sisters, June, Gayle, Wanda and Corrine. Barb is survived by a sister, Lucille Woodward, from Oaks, Pa.; two sons, Donald Hyatt, of Wilmington, N.C., and Michael Hyatt, of South Connellsville; four grandchildren, Beth, Becky, Brittany and Hunter Hyatt; a great-grandson, Daemin; her special and beloved boyfriend, Marvin, who was with her until the very end; and several nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in the VITO C. MARTUCCI FUNERAL HOME, 123 S. First St., West Side, Connellsville, 724-628-9033, and from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday, the hour of service, with the Rev. Ron Boyd officiating. Interment will be in Greenridge Memorial Park.
