Ruth L. Heater (Geib) passed away from this life on Sunday, August 11, 2013, at her home in Houston, Texas.
Ruth was born on June 2, 1936 in Green Township and was a graduate of Green High School. She went on to attend Baldwin Wallace University before marrying the love of her life, Howard Heater. They remained in Akron where they operated two trucking companies, Ultra Enterprises and Merchandise Cartage. After retiring they split their time between Akron, Ohio and Houston, Texas. In addition to loving her family, Ruth loved (in no particular order) an icy cold drink, a good book, a delicious meal and a rowdy family poker game.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, Jake and Louise Geib and her husband, Howard D. Heater. She is survived by her children, Del (Kathy), Rae Lyn Craig (Jim) and Eric (Evelyn); along with grandchildren, Steven, Austin, Dakota, Justin, Alyssa, Jacob and Joshua. She also leaves behind her brother, Robert Geib (Sandy); sister-in-law, Janice; and best friend, Joann Wright.
At Ruth's request cremation has taken place and there will be no memorial service. Both Ruth and Howard's ashes will be spread together in Key West, Florida, where they spent their happiest times with family and loved ones.
In lieu of flowers donations in her name may be made to The American Cancer Society .
