Ernest Norman Hearst died Dec. 27, 1994 at this Colfax home at the age of 90.
Mr. Hearst had lived in Colfax for 33 years, and was a native of San Francisco, born Nov. 21, 1904. He attended Sacramento High School and junior college, and the University of California at Berkeley.
Prior to retiring, Mr. Hearst worked for the California Department of interstate division. He was a member of the Sacramento Free Methodist Church and the California State Employees Association.
Survivors include his wife, Ethel Simpson Hearst of Colfax and son Robert Alan Hearst of Sacramento.
Visitation is noon to 8 p.m. today at Lassila's Sierra Chapel in Colfax. A private service is Saturday at 10:30 a.m., also at the Sierra Chapel, with burial to follow in the Colfax District Cemetery.
