Death of Thomas Healey --- Creston Gazette, 25th.--- Thomas Healey, whose sickness has been mentioned several times recently, died at his residence, seven miles northeast of the city, in Spaulding township, at four o'clock yesterday afternoon, at the age of forty-three years and eleven months. For five months past Mr. Healey had been confined to his room and had suffered great pain from white swelling in his right leg. Local physicians operated on the limb and all possible medical skill rendered, but of no avail. Finally the patient was taken to Chicago a few weeks ago, where the most skilled physicians and surgeons were consulted, but their verdict was that the disease could not be checked and that death would soon ensue, and it did, as Mr. Healey had not been home from Chicago to exceed a week before the dark winged angel of death came and gave freedom to the spirit which returned to the God that gave it. --- Thomas Healey was born in Pittsburg, Penn., and came to Muscatine county, Iowa with his parents when but a boy. He resided in Muscatine county until 1878 when he removed his family to this county and had since resided here. He leaves to mourn his untimely departure to the world beyond a wife and nine children, ranging from one to eighteen years, who have the sincere sympathy of the entire community in this their hour of great bereavement. Mr. Healey had for many years past been one of Union county's best farmers and I his death the community loses a good citizen. --- The funeral service will be held at St. Malachy's church at ten o'clock to-morrow morning, conducted by Rev. Father Bede, after which interment of the remains will take place at Calvary cemetery
