Mrs. Bertha F. Gloeckler, 93, of Garden Manor Extended Care Center, died Friday morning, Sept. 3, 1999. She was born in Berea, Ky., on July 26, 1906, the daughter of Palestine Hazelwood and Mary (Haley) Hazelwood. Mrs. Gloeckler was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ and the bridge club for more than 60 years. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Rosemary M. Gloeckler of Middletown; two grandsons, Tom, and his wife, Cathy Gloeckler, of Middletown, and Don, and his wife, Linda Gloeckler, of Cincinnati; six great-grandchildren, Craig, Scott, Geoffery, Adam, Stephen and Molly Gloeckler. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward H. Gloeckler Jr. in 1984; and her parents. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 8, at Breitenbach-McCoy-Leffler Funeral Home, with the Rev. Susan Jones Thompson officiating. Burial will be at Woodhill Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service Wednesday at the funeral home.
