Mrs. Ida Haynes Benson, member of a prominent Ouachita parish family, died early today in a local clinic. She was 76.

Funeral services are incomplete, but will be under direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home of Monroe.

Mrs. Benson is survived by her son, Clifford Benson, former West Monroe businessman, but now a farmer east of Monroe; two daughters, Mrs. D. W. Rhodes, Fairbanks, and Mrs. Robert A. Garrison, Batesville, Miss.; three brothers, Louis, Grady and Brewer Haynes of West Monroe; four sisters, Mrs. C. O. Free of Vincennes, Ind., and Mrs. Louis Rushing and Mrs. John Williams, both of West Monroe and Mrs. Myrtle Smith, Baton Rouge; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
