Jean was born in England March 8, 1929, to Horace Stammers and Marjorie Atkins. She was one of six girls.
She met Simon Hayes during WWII, when Simon was in the Army and stationed in Redding, England. They married July 5, 1947. Simon was sent to America and they ended up in Caldwell. They made their life here and raised two daughters.
Simon and Jean enjoyed camping, and Jean loved SHOPPING! Her greatest joy was her extended family.
She is survived by her daughters, Gloria (Johnny) Thomas and Judy (Jim) Cannon; her six grandkids, Stacey (Calvin), Brandon (Tina), Little Chad (Sheri), Beau, Cody and Big Chad; and seven great-grandkids.
Graveside services will be Wednesday, February 9, 2011, at 2 p.m. at Canyon Hill Cemetery under the direction of Dakan Funeral Chapel, Caldwell.
