Lilly Helen Blevins, 83, 119 S. 8th Street, Watauga, TN, died Monday, January 10, 2000 at Johnson City Medical Center.
Mrs. Blevins was a native of Mascot, Knox County, TN, and had lived most of her life in Watauga. She was the daughter of the late George W. and Louise Bumgardner Hayes and was also preceded in death by her husband, Denver M. Blevins, in April 1999, and a brother, Daniel Hayes.
Mrs. Blevins was the oldest lady member of Watauga Christian Church where she was active in Ladies Aid and the Dorcas Circle.
Survivors include two daughters, Barbara Blevins of the home, and Penny (Dale) McCracken of Watauga; a sister, Suzanna Holloway of Johnson City; three grandchildren and their spouses, Janella and Kevin Laughren of Boones Creek, Eric and Rachel McCracken of Piney Flats, and Celena and Robert Rasnake of Gray; two great-grandchildren, Miraia Rasnake of Gray and Alex McCracken of Piney Flats; special cousins, Brown and Mildred Phipps; and special friends, Charles Henry and Emily Berry; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 8:00 p.m. Thursday from the Morris-Baker South Chapel with Mr. Tony Duncan officiating. Special music will be provided by Mrs. Peggy Street and Tommy Joe Andrews. Graveside services and interment will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday at Monte Vista Burial Park. Family and friends will meet at the cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be the men of Watauga Christian Church. Nephews will serve as honorary pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m. Thursday at the Morris-Baker Funeral Home, 2001 Oakland Avenue, Johnson City, Tenn.
