God allowed Alan Kent Hay to come into his world Feb. 26, 1960. He was born in Lubbock to Imogene Patterson Hay and Larry Kent Hay. He grew up in Lubbock, moving to Hobbs in 1983, then to Odessa in 1987. He moved to Kyle earlier this year.

His mother pre-deceased him in 1996. He is survived by his father, Larry K. Hay of Lubbock; his sister, Suzanne Morris of Lawton, Okla.; his son, Michael Alan Hay of Lubbock; two nephews, Brandon Kent Hay of Lawton, Okla. and John Thomas (JT) Bell of Lawton, Okla.; and a host of family.

Anyone with a heart as large as Alan's, can't help but be sorely missed. He was the first to help and the last to leave. Time spent with Alan was blessed, whether it was fishing, hunting, or restoring cars. One of the last things Alan said was that he had his life straight and he was walking with God.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Monday.

Services are scheduled for Tuesday morning at 10 a.m. at Resthaven's Abbey Chapel with interment to follow in Resthaven Memorial Park under the direction of Resthaven Funeral Home.

Pallbearers are: Duane McQueen, Joe Schoenig, Robert Gunn, Bob Densford, Lee Sanderson and Leon Coats.

The family suggests memorial donations in lieu of flowers may be made to Calvary Baptist Church building Fund.
