John J. Hawver
Harvard - John J. Hawver, 99, died Tuesday, July 14, 1992, in his home.
Until his retirement in 1986, he had farmed on State Line Road.
Born Jan. 1, 1893, on the Big Foot Prairie, he was the son of J.S. and L. Fidelia (Hildreth) Hawver.
On June 30, 1914, in Alden, he married Edna Timming. She died May 1980.
Mr. Hawver belonged to the First Presbyterian Church of Harvard, the Big Foot Cemetery Association and the Farm Bureau.
He is survived by three daughters, Hollie Cepek and Mary Jane (Edwin) Haldeman, both of Harvard, and Jeanette (Edward) Weiss of Villa Park; two sons, Henry (Goldie) of New London, Wis., and Donald (Dolores) of Clinton, Wis.; a daughter-in-law, Roberta Hawver of Walworth, Wis.; 12 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A son, Carrol, an infant son, John Jr., and two great-granddaughters preceded him in death.
Friends may call from 6 t0 8 p.m. Thursday, July 16, at Toynton's Walworth Funeral Home in Walworth.
The Rev. Jeff Borgerson will officiate at the funeral 1 p.m. Friday, July 17, in the funeral home. Burial will be in Big Foot Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to either the Big Foot Cemetery Association or the First Presbyterian Church of Harvard.
