OGDEN - Maxine H. Harrop, 75, died on Sunday, April 4, 2004.

She was born on April 8, 1928 in Long Beach, CA, to Fred D. Hawkins and Zola Christensen. Maxine grew up in Moab, UT, and graduated from Grand County High School in 1946. She moved to Ogden and continued her education and graduated from Ogden Business College in 1950.

Maxine was a long-term member of both the American Legion and the Eagles Auxiliary. She worked as a secretary for Ogden City Schools and served as a volunteer for Planned Parenthood and the Department of Aging. She was a Cub Scout Den Mother for six years.

She married Donald C. Gordon Sr. in 1946, who preceded her in death. She married Ray Johnson in 1956, who preceded her in death. She married Gene L. Harrop in 1972, who preceded her in death.

Maxine is survived by seven children, Donna Ann Gordon, Donald C. Gordon Jr., Janis Johnson, Michele Johnson, Gloria Pratt, Wayne Harropson, and Roger Harrop. She was also survived by seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, two nephews, one niece, her sister-in-law, Ila Stewart, and a special friend, Silia (Lea) Fifita.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, three husbands, and her wonderful brother, Buster Stewart.
