MAGGIE BURGIN DIES AT HOSPITAL
Mrs. Maggie C. Burgin, 82, died last night in St. Catherine's Hospital following an extended illness.
The wife of the late George Burgin, a minister in the Church of the Brethern, she served with her husband in the church here 17 years. Mr. Burgin died Feb 7 of last year.
Mr. and Mrs. Burgin served many churches in Kansas, Colorado, Iowa and Oklahoma. Both retired after their service here. A native Virginian, Mrs. Burgin was born August 15 1872 at Mount Sidney. She lived at Carrollton, Mo., as a child and later in Barber Co., Kansas.
Surviving are three sons, Robert of Pierceville, William and George of Hutchinson; five daughters Mrs. mae Jennings of Colorado Springs, Colo., Mrs. Clara Legg of Hutchinson, Mrs. Orville Risley of Nickerson, Mrs. Iva Whiteley, and Mrs. Kathryn Sheaks both of garden City; two sisters Mrs. Luett Ayres of Helena, OK and Mrs. Estella Minnick of Ringoood Okla., 19 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Church of the Brethern. The Revs A.L. Patrick and Burton Metzle will officiate.
Interment will be at Valley View Cemetery.
