Ruth Ester Hawkins, 90, of Elizabethtown died Saturday, December 13, 2014 at Elizabethtown Nursing and Rehab. She was a native of Christian County, and worked as a nurse's assistant at Hardin Memorial Hospital and Ireland Army Hospital. She was a member of Memorial United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Morris Hawkins; parents, John Jefferson and Susie Morgan Ladd; and seven brothers and sisters. She is survived by her five daughters, Brenda (Jerry) Marr, Barbara (Steve) Brangers, Lena Coombs, all of Elizabethtown, Debra (Randy) Bush of Russell Springs, and Donna Allen of Radcliff; a son, Thomas Lee Hawkins of Louisville; a sister-in-law, Helena "Sis" Crady of Nashville, TN; thirteen grandchildren; and twenty-two great-grandchildren. There will be a graveside service 1 p.m. Tuesday at Hardin Memorial Park with Rev. Scott Kerr officiating. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday and after 11 a.m. Tuesday at Brown Funeral Home.
