Thelma Irene Hawkins Drury, 80, of Lawrenceburg, widow of Paul Atwell Drury, died Friday, Feb. 11, 2011 at her residence. She is the daughter of the late Walter Hawkins and Lillian Morgan Hawkins. She was a member of Alton Baptist Church and attended Alton Christian Church. She was a dental assistant for Dr. Donald Collins for 40 years.

She is survived by a daughter, Charlotte Ann Drury (Brett Jones); five sons, Connie (Sue) Drury; Larry Paul (Billie Jean) Drury; Gary Scott (Donna B.) Drury; Eddie Martin Drury, all of Lawrenceburg, and Mark Allen (Boday) Drury, Frankfort; two sisters, Geneva Robinson, Indiana, and Virginia Bryant, Louisville; 19 grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by four sisters, Oneta Wilson, Georgia Perry, Addie Mae Shouse, and Louise Gritton; four brothers, Gilbert, Edward, Thomas, and Earl Hawkins.

Funeral services were Tuesday at Gash Memorial Chapel with Bro. Matt Sawyer officiating. Burial followed in the Lawrenceburg Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Bluegrass, 208 Steele Street, Frankfort, KY 40601 or Alton Christian Church, 1686 Old Frankfort Road, Lawrenceburg, KY 40342. Casket bearers were Gilbert Gritton Jr., Rusty Sayre, David Perkins, Johnny Giles, Jerry Gritton, and Dr. Donald Collins. Honorary bearers were Bonnie Crawford, D.J. Barnett, Ann Harley, Jeanette Robinson, Felita Giles, Jan Collins, Amy Gritton, and Nancy Perry.
