Betty J. Hawkins, 50, Brumley, died Oct. 21, 2000, at her home. She was born Dec. 28, 1949, in Tuscumbia, a daughter of Charles and Edith Louise Halderman. She was married July 5, 1968, to Gary Hawkins, who survives at the home. She co-owned Hawkins Plumbing. She was a member of the Dam Car Club of Osage Beach and Brumpey Baptist Church.
Other survivors include: three daughters, Gennifer Heimerl, Las Vegas, Stephanie Hawkins, Brumley, and Stacy Hawkins, Warrensburg; five brothers, Elmer Halderman, Ulman, Rober Halderman, Earl Halderman and Lloyd Halderman, all of Eldon, and Charles Halderman, Wardsville; one sister, Helen Hixon, Lake Ozark; and two grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Hedges Funeral Home, Osage Beach. The Rev. Lee Todd will officiate. Burial will be in Gott Cemetery, Brumley. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today.
