BEAVER SPRINGS - Dolores J. "Sis" Havice, 83, of Beaver Springs, died at 4:40 a.m. March 9, 2014, at her home.She was the daughter of the late Melvin M. and Erma J. (Lane) Cowan. She was the wife of the late James C. Havice Sr.She is survived by: seven children, Erma Jean, of Beaver Springs, Ethel J. and Paul Ramsden, of North Carolina, James C. Havice Jr., of Selinsgrove, John and Viola Havice, of Mifflinburg, Judith and David W. Brouse, of Beavertown, and Jean and Ray Holt, of Wrightsville; a granddaughter that she raised, Melissa J. Rogers and her companion, Brad A. Folk, of Beaver Springs; 21 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; one sister, Ethel Parker and husband, Donald, of Beaver Springs; and numerous nieces and nephewsIn addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by: one daughter, Joy M. Havice; one son-in-law, Gene A. Smith; two brothers, Leslie Cowan and Richard Cowan; and twin great-grandsons.She had previously been employed at the Kinney Shoe Factory in Beaver Springs and also worked as a bartender at the Mifflinburg VFW until retiring.She loved going to Bingo and gambling with her grandson, Joey, at the Bannerville Fire Company.A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 13, 2014, at Pheasant Funeral Home, 316 W. Market St., Beavertown, with Pastor Randy Geedy officiating.After the service, burial will be in the Troxelville Union Cemetery.Friends and family will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, March 12, 2014, and from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday, at the funeral home.
