Virginia H. Wendt, nee Hauf, age 92, of River Forest. Beloved wife of the late William H . Jr. Loving mother of William (Dalia), Julie (Howard) Brundage, George (Anne), John (Linda), Virginia (James) Vecchio, Joseph (Rise'). Fond sister of Gloria (the late William) Vorhies. Cherished grandmother of 15 and great-grandmother of 17. In addition to raising her family,Virginia owned and operated her family's business, Chicago Metal Rolled Products, from 1984 until 2008. Specializing in bending structural steel, her company curved the pipe for the overhead trellis of the Pritzker Pavilion at Chicago's Millennium Park. A life trustee of Fenwick High School, she was inducted into its Hall of Fame. She was a long time member of the Riverside Golf Club. She enjoyed supporting her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren in sports especially swimming and water polo. She had a wide range of interests including history (her major at Rosary College) and art as well as international travel. Virginia established the Wendt Family Endowment to support teacher enhancement at Fenwick High School. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Fenwick High School—Wendt Family Endowment, 505 Washington Boulevard, Oak Park, IL 60302.
