A. Herbert Hatton, 51, of 3016 Ave. Q NW, died early yesterday evening at the Winter Haven Hospital following a brief illness.
He was a native of Baltimore, Md., and was the son of Harold and Cornelia Blake Hatton. He came to Winter Haven in 1959 and prior to his retirement several months ago was a salesman with Frederick's Men Shop.
A member of Trinity Methodist Church of Winter Have, Hatton was a veteran of World War II with the U.S. Army. He was also a member of the Wesleyan Sunday School Class of the church.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Elenor C. Hatton, Winter Haven; a daughter, Mrs. Patricia Painter, Hollywood, Fla.; a son, Richard Hatton, who is a fifth grade student at Garner Elementary School; three sisters, four brothers, and three grandchildren.
Funeral services are scheduled for Sunday at 4 p.m. from the chapel of Ott-Laughlin Funeral Home with the Rev. Ben Blackburn, pastor of the Trinity Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeside Memorial Park.
Active pallbearers are, Norman Beer, Russell Gardner, R. L. McBrayer, Taft Eason, Bob McCullough, and Dr. W.R. Weatherbee.
Honorary pallbearers will be men of the Wesleyan Sunday School Class, Maynard Traviss, Hagan Parrish, and Dr. Beach Brooks
