WAKEFIELD RITES ARE HELD MONDAY
Funeral services were held from Champion's drawing room at 2 p.m. Thursday for Anna L. Wakefield, who died at 8 o'clock Monday morning. The services, at which the Rev. Oliver Reed of the Baptist church and the Rev. Donald G. Smith of the Episcopal church officiated, were largely attended.
Music was furnished by Mrs. Frank Norcorss, her son Richard, Helen Bird and Jack Shields. Pall bearers were Charles Hinds, P.J. Thelsen, L. J. Helman, D. A. Ruff, R. C. Bentzen and Dr. R. C. Bentzen.
Mrs. Wakefield, who was born in Bethal, Vermont was 59 at the time of her death. Her maiden name was Hatch. Upon finishing school she taught for 10 years. She married Frank W. Wakefield at Newport N.H. on June 29, 1904. Before coming to Sheridan in 1922, Mr. and Mrs. Wakefield lived in Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Illinois.
Mrs. Wakefield, originally an Episcopalian, became greatly attached to the Rev. and Mrs. Reed several years ago and attended the Baptist church.
Beside her husband, she leaves a son, Frank W. Wakefield, Jr.; a sister, Mrs. Daniel R. Remington of Boston, a niece, Mrs. Walter C. Davis of Sheridan and cousins in Cody, Bozeman and Billings.
