Clifford Hatch passed away January 30, 2010 at Renown Regional Medical Center in Reno. He was at peace during his last moments, surrounded and comforted by his family.

Cliff was born on May 11, 1937 in Vernal, UT to Ralph and Blanch Hatch. He grew up on his family's ranch in Vernal until enlisting in the Air Force after graduating from Vernal High School in 1955. He was stationed at Hamilton Field Air Force Base in California, where he served in Air Search & Rescue.

He married Dixie Dudley in 1958 and they raised four children together. Cliff supported his family by working as a long-haul truck driver, retiring from Sherwin-Williams in 2003.

Cliff fought many years against emphysema, and was determined to enjoy life to the absolute fullest despite his disease.

Anything that involved visiting with family or his many friends brought Cliff happiness, whether it was coffee and conversation, going out to eat or attending his grandchildren's soccer games. Cliff loved sports, coaching Little League, playing co-ed softball and rooting for his two favorite teams, the 49er's and San Francisco Giants.

He was a member of the Sparks Lyon's Club where he enjoyed visiting with everyone. Cliff was generous beyond compare, even helping out strangers when he saw someone in need. Throughout his entire life he always put consideration for others first. As Cliff said, "the only worthwhile thing you can do in life is what you do for others."

Cliff is survived by his three sons, daughter, five grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, longtime companion and her three children, and two brothers. He is also survived by his former wife.

Cliff was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Carma Woodard.

In accordance with Cliff's wishes no memorial service will be held.

Internment will be held at the Veterans Cemetery in Fernley at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to a charity of your choice in Cliff's memory.
