Florence Armanda (Hatch) Adams was born on September 21, 1921 at Buffalo, OK, the daughter of Ernest Hatch and Margaret Lockhart. When Florence was six she moved in with Arie and Alma Carpenter's family on a farm near Granada. Florence also spent one year with Albert and Pearl Cotherman at Winnebago, MN. On March 26, 1941 she married Donald F. Adams at the home of Arie Carpenter. Florence lived with Earl and Fern Adams (Donald's parents) for three years while Donald was away fighting in WW II. When Donald returned they farmed by East Chain and Granada for many years later moving into Granada. They were members of the Granada Assembly of God Church. Florence taught Sunday School, and was involved with the church music and had many youth gatherings at their home over the years. Florence enjoyed singing with her family on many occasions. After the death of her husband in May of 1989, Florence spent time living with her children and being an active part of enriching their lives. She volunteered at St. Lukes Lutheran Care Center in Blue Earth and while living in New Prague, MN she volunteered at the hospital and retirement home. In April of 2009, Florence entered the St. Lukes Lutheran Care Center in Blue Earth as a resident. She is survived by three sons, Ernest Adams and his wife, Mary Ann, of Eagle Lake, MN, Donald Adams and his wife, Linda, of Blue Earth, MN, Byron Adams of Ledyard, IA; two daughters, Karen Adams of Arlington, MN, Karla Bell and her husband, Barry, of Carson City, NV; thirteen grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren; one sister, Melva Conquest of Altus, AR; two sisters-in-law, Viola Landin Quiggle and Jean Hatch; many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
