Marilyn Hatch Gunn completed her earthly life after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Salt Lake City, Utah to Rulon Jabez and Sarah Elvira Schenck Hatch, she married Hugh Gunn August 19, 1954 in the Salt Lake City, Utah LDS Temple. They lived in Woodruff, Utah, in Harrison, Montana and in Teton where she gained the nickname of MOM, who could fix anything. She was part-owner of ShoGun Crafts.
Serving in Primary, Relief Society, Young Women's and seminary for The Church Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, her greatest accomplishment was always being there to serve other people no matter what trials she had in her own life. Her advice to others was "Live your life so that when you enter this world you cry and the world rejoices, when you leave this world the world cries and you rejoice."
Her children: Boyd Gunn, Neena (Arlen) Scorse, Cindy (Brian) Smith, Bonnie (Dan) Baker, Lisa (Mike) Richey, and Ben (Melody) Gun; sisters: JoAnn Smith, and Linda Randall; brothers: Roger (Pearl) Hatch and Richard (Janice) Hatch; 15 grandchildren and three great grandchildren survive. Her husband, Hugh, parents and sister Melva Rae Spackman predeceased Marilyn.
